The shop
One trip instead of four
Kashmir Supermarket sits on Dewsbury Road in Beeston, and it is the reason a lot of south Leeds does not need four separate shopping trips. Indian, Pakistani, African and Caribbean groceries under one roof, with the halal butchery counter at the back.
The rice aisle alone runs to twenty-odd lines — Tilda, Surya, Laila, White Pearl, Green Dragon — stacked from 1kg bags to 10kg sacks. The spice wall carries whole and ground in every size, the veg racks get restocked through the week, and there is a free car park out front, which in this part of Leeds is not nothing.
